Sunday update

Lot's of good stuff here. Will update more later, but I got to get work done for the paper that pays the bills.

First off: Lorenzen and the offense were running on a cadence vocal snap count. They were supposed to be running on a silent count as they have practiced all week. Randy Edsall said they didn't have an explanation for why they went to a vocal snap count. Inexplicable. They were on a silent count for most of the game.

I don't really know what to say about that. I don't know how anyone can hear with 60,000 plus i the shotgun. Edsall didn't know they were running a cadence until after the game and after the media interview (which would explain how he was at a loss how the line and quarterback get a silent count mixed up.) I don't know. It's just one of those things. Not much too it more than that.

Also, Donald Brown was available to play, and could have played, but the coaching staff decided to go with Andre Dixon. That's not to say Brown is benched, or Dixon is the No. 1. It's also not correct to say that Brown didn't play because of injury. It's somewhere in between. Where that between is, I can't tell you.

Randy counted 8 offensive plays that if the Huskies make one, or don't make a turnover or penalty, it changes the game and the Huskies win. That's a lot of plays to leave on the field.

Be back with more late.

BTW, Mo Petrus was listed on the UConn participation report. I guess he played on special teams. Virginia didn't include a participation report. I will confer with UConn.

Update: My hunch was correct. Mr. Petrus never made the trip. It was a typo on UConn's part.
