Post Louisville wrapup

Elation with the Huskies. These are the kind of games that build programs. Randy Edsall was even-keeled, but you could see the euphoria on his face. He isn't a good actor.

He said it is up for the media to decide where this ranks.

This is the biggest. Here is why? It was on national TV against a name program and a name team. Louisville is a mess, but I remember maybe 6 or 7 years ago Louisville defeating a mess of a Miami program and how that exploded the program. This is a win unlike any the program has had.

Take Dan Davis' thoughts:

"This was the year to take it to the next level,” UConn defensive end Dan Davis said. “Keep going, keep going. We wanted to do something special this year and we are starting to do it. We got to keep it going. When we are done, these (freshmen) have enough talent to keep this going. This is a good program.”

6-1, 2-0 in the Big East. You are your record.

The defense stopped that air attack from Louisville. Yes, conditions matter and the Taylor play was ridiculous, but 17-7 12 minutes left, they came back. Defense stopped Brohm and Co. twice. The offense made the plays.

Big win for the Huskies.

I felt this team is much better than last year, been saying it all year, and you have to have confidence that the Huskies are going to pull off those "home upsets" This is the first, I don't think it is going to be the last. How far can they take it? I don't know. They have some flaws. But you know what? For one day, enjoy the ride.

The fun in sports is going along for the ride. It's the journey that captivates us, not the result.
