WVU escapes

Everyone exhale. Thought for a moment it was going to be easy didn't you?

WVU nearly gagged the game away. Poor Louisville, you can say for every game except Syracuse that they should have won. Cards could easily be 9-1 (Syracuse beat up a demoralized Cardinals team). Goes to show you how much turnovers mean. That team's season ended on the devastating Kentucky loss.

Anyhow, WVU was about as low key as I can remember it in the fourth quarter. They were waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Patrick White saved the day. I don't think he is an NFL QB (arm strength), but he is a great college player. Flat out one of the scariest players in college football.

You got to want UConn 10-1 vs. 9-1 at West Virginia Nov. 24.

That's the way it should be.

I was really pulling for the Cardinals. As much as I would love to see the one loss showdown I am more interested in UCONN winning the big east. There is a long way to go. Starting with Saturdays game on ESPNU that I have to go to a bar to watch.

As much as I would look forward to the WVU/UConn showdown and both having only one loss, I was pulling like heck for Louisville. Why? I wanted to celebrate (or at least have the opportunity) a Big East title at the Rent. I know, I know, asking for too much. No turnovers tomorrow and they'll beat Cincy. Cincy's entire game is based on turnovers...it's on Lorenzen to keep being smart.

I think we all wanted Louisville to win this one and credit Louisville for making it a game after they were down 2 scores in the 3rd. I do think, though, to get respect UConn can't back into the Big East crown. If they continue to play as well as they have it will be an interesting (and new) experience for the Huskies on Nov.24. First things first, go to Cincy and have Dixon and Brown establish the run and force Cincy to make mistakes.
