Meineke near, but no one is talking

It looks as though the Meineke has made a decision, but no one is letting it out. Will Webb, executive director of the Car Care Bowl, said that they are going to wait for the Sun Bowl's official announcement. UConn doesn't know, at least not yet what it is either way.

Could be as early as tonight, but no promises.

Here is Webb:

"We hope to make an announcement in the next day or two. The Sun Bowl will make its announcement at 4 p.m. We are going to get everything set."

The Meineke hasn't started contacting schools with their decision as of yet. Only a handful of people know, and I am not sure if any of them are in Storrs and Cincinnati.

On the chance that UConn is not selected for Charlotte, it looks like the International Bowl over the papajohns.com bowl at this moment for the Huskies. It's still in flux at this time however. The next domino to fall is Charlotte. If UConn is selected, Cincinnati is headed to Birmingham.

Also, there is a major problem with UConn for the Dec. 22 date. Practice would run right in the middle of finals. Finals begin Dec. 10 and end Dec. 15. I am sure most other school would have the same issues, though many schools do end the first week of December.

Edit: My gut? I think no Charlotte. But, I am very insecure and conservative about these things. Unless someone tells me "yes," I think no. I don't like the vibe. But, I am probably paranoid. It's 50-50.
