Cincinnati postgame

What can you say? Huskies were thoroughly thrashed in every way imaginable.

We could spend an hour dissecting that game. But, Andre Dixon put it succinctly after the game.

"We got our ass busted."

Yes.

What does this mean? Well, Huskies have to win next week against Syracuse and then take their best shot at WVU for the Big East title. That's what their focus should be.

As far as ramifications? I don't know how the Sun Bowl will take it. they were there watching both teams. Luckily for the Huskies they saw the USF game.

It's plausible that the Huskies and Bearcats finish 9-3. Who does the Sun take? I still think UConn, but Cincinnati is probably a little better at this time.

It's out of the Huskies hands, but they have to be impressive in their final two games. If USF runs the table, they would be 9-3 also. What happens when there are three 9-3 teams in the Big East? It's anyone's guess. UConn would have the better record (assuming a split the last 2) in conference at 5-2. But a case could be made for Cincinnati and USF.

The best way out of this is for the Huskies to win their final two and make the bowl impressing moot.

Some injury notes

* Steve Brouse left with an apparent concussion. Looks like Alex LaMagdelaine will be on the shelf for awhile. He had a big brace on his left knee.
