Monday notes --- Cuse-Huskies on the Deuce

More updates: Lou allen has been suspended indefinitely for a team rules violation.

Also, per the Washington Post and the Hartford Courant, West Potomac offensive linemen Jimmy Bennett, a 3-star recruit, committed to the Huskies this weekend.

It pays to speak up sometime. This game has a good start time and national coverage. It's a fair appearance. I imagine WVU-UConn will be on ESPN if they can fit it in the schedule.

CONNECTICUT-SYRACUSE FOOTBALL TO AIR ON ESPN2 AT NOON

STORRS, Conn. - The BIG EAST Conference announced on Monday that UConn’s Nov. 17 football game against Syracuse at Rentschler Field will kickoff at 12:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally by ESPN2.

Other stuff:

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyvon Branch, Sr., CB/KR,Connecticut
Cicero, N.Y.
Branch, who also was named BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 1, set a Connecticut record with 184 yards on four kickoff returns, including a 97-yard return for a touchdown, in the Huskies’ 38-19 win against Rutgers. Branch becomes the first Connecticut player to score on two kickoff returns in a season and leads the Bowl Subdivision by averaging 36.1 yards on returns.

BTW, I think this is Branch's ticket to the NFL. he can be a kick returner, backup defensive back (probably a safety) and be on special teams. In the NFL, if you are't a star, you have to be versatile. branch can back up on defense, kick return, and also go out there and make tackles on STs. Whether he is a late round pick or an UDFA, that's his ticket to playing in the NFL.

Also, Donald Brown made the honor roll for 154 yards performance.
