Good news on the Lindsey Witten and Andre Dixon front -- they are both going to play. Witten is likely to be used on pass rushing downs while Dixon's role is TBD. The Huskies have 3 backs who are aching for time, it's going to be interesting to see how they divide the carries.
On another note: Randy Edsall had a recruiting meeting today and noticed how hard it is to get recruits up to games that are on Friday night.
"It really hurts us than helps us. We don’t have many prospects coming because it's Friday night. And the kids that play Saturday can’t come from any distance to see game.
“You don’t get as much exposure as you think you do. It probably doesn’t help you much from a recruiting standpoint.”
Where is the balance? Edsall wants to play on Saturday, but TV dictates Friday night. You either give up the exposure and recruiting or the revenue.
Your choice.
Got some work to do, see ya'll tommorrow.

Hey John,
Great break down there. Uconn is not going to get the air time that the major schools will, but we should at least get some regional broadcast from espn or espn2. Lets not even got into espnu. It could help out alot, but no one gets it. Keep up the good work and see you friday night
I like the Friday games. UConn destroyed UVA last week and didn't get a minute of airtime anywhere. By playing on Friday, and hopefully doing the same, they'll get some national exposure.
I agree with Edsall that it hurts in the short-term but could help in the long term. UConn is desperate, in my opinion, for national exposure. Look at how Rutgers turned one Thursday night victory into fooling people they were a top 10 team, even two years after.
Nice stuff John. The only way Uconn is going to get the exposure is if they keep winning and make a name for themselves. They really need the exposure and the ability to bring recruits in to show them what CT football is all about. Only way to do that is keep winning! Go Huskies!
Thanks guys, I love the Friday games from an exposure standpoint. The Big East has survived by playing Wednesday-Thursday-Friday.
Edsall is a traditionalist. I will have more on it later.
