Saturday -- Gameday

Today's JI preview against Virginia

Nice going by ESPNU, not only do they make you wait until 7:30 p.m. to start the game, you also miss Ohio St.-USC.

Is anyone not at this game going to be paying attention? Lord, I hope not. Fielded two calls this morning for tickets. If this game was on TV, these people would watch.

7:30 p.m. games are brutal. On a Saturday night people want to get home and be in before midnight. If you are coming from an hour away, say New Haven, you won't get settled at home until 2 a.m. Everyone is wondering why UConn hasn't sold 30,000 plus season tickets -- its because of this! Not rocket science and no need for marketing studies.

Scheduling does play a part. How can you buy season tickets if you don't know what time the games are at?

Who wants to get home at midnight Sunday morning? Can't ESPNU throw a West Coast game on at the 7:30 p.m. time slot?

But heck, what do I know. The game isn't played for the people in the stands.
