Just back from the presser. Give you a quick update and some thoughts on Temple late tonight.
Of course, Randy Edsall pushed the Temple-UConn "robbed" catch (at least according to Temple) to the backburner, or tried too anyway.
"I am not worried about last year's game. Only this year's game...."I have enough concerns about our team this year. That is what my focus is and my job is. I don't every worry about other (teams)." (Note: Will transcribe and cleanup for clarity later.)
When asked a follow up later about dodging the question on yesterday's Big East conference call Edsall turned red and smiled.
"Yes, and I will today too."
Another backdoor question about getting the "calls" came up, and the coach smiled and shook his head. Can't wait for Louisville week. They blame Larry Taylor for their loss on Sunday.
Al Golden was a little more forceful about the impact of last year's game:
"Zero. Absolutely nothing. It has nothing to do with this game."
Looks like Temple marketing didn't get the memo. The Justice video was well-received by some UConn players.
Tyler Lorenzen was grilled on the play. He said he hasn't talked about since it happened.
"The (does Larry Taylor wave) took over."
Now that was funny.
News: Brad Kanuch working on the depth chart this week. He is going to be taking snaps with the first and second team and they will see where he is.
RB Andre Dixon will play. Right ankle is hurt, but he is a go this week. Aaron Basgby No. 2 on the depth chart at safety. DE Lindsay Witten will play (shoulder). G Alex LaMagdelaine could be out awhile with shoulder surgery. Tre Tonsing moves to guard to backup, Gary Bardzak is now second on depth chart behind center Keith Gray. Jordan Todman is "week-to-week", which means we won't be seeing him this week.
Lot of CT kids on the temple roster. They all have played pretty well including Windsor's Terrence Knighton. I always liked Terrence from his high school days. Nice to see he carved out a good career there.
