Was it only a year ago that there were a pair of teams from the Bigh East in the top 10?
I have led the charge the last two years that the Big East is better than given credit, but this weekend has been an absolute disaster.
No matter how much you like the Big East, no matter how much you want things to go right, the performance as a conference as a whole is beyond bad.
Syracuse looked awful. Pittsburgh embarrassed at home and showed how laughable (told you so) that Top 25 ranking was. Louisville was dreadful, that game was unwatchable. I didn't see Rutgers, but I am stunned reading the recap and looking at stats.
It wasn't losing to Ohio State and Georgia either. A WAC, MAC, and a couple of bottom feeder BCS conference teams put a whooping on.
If Temple takes out UConn on Saturday the howls are going to come far and wide. The ACC wasn't great either (Clemson, Virginia, Va Tech and an awful game in a win by UNC), but it wasn't as bad as this.
No doubt about it. Conference deserves the rep after this weekend. What does it mean for UConn? Absolutely nothing. You can't fault them for Rutgers getting blow out.

Only the4 over rating of RU and Pitt y the media made the conference look bad. Every team with a legit shot at the BE title won.
I don't know why everyone is so down on the Big East....Louisville, Pitt & Syracuse were the three worst teams in the conferences last year and the only three to not make a bowl. The Rutgers loss was shocking because they were a way better team in the first half but didn't score any points.
This week...WVU will beat East Carolina, UConn will beat Temple and Cincy is going to scare the heck out of Oklahoma.
