It's my sixth year wedding anniversary today, so of course I am here talking football. Mrs. Silver was down for the game this weekend with me, though she didn't brave the rain on Saturday. So, my point is I don't have a lot of time here.
Here are some nuggets from today. No major injuries coming out of Saturday's game. Good news on the Jordan Todman front, the true frosh RB should be practicing today. The team will make a decision later this week as to his availability.
Lindsay Witten didn't play, his knee didn't come around, and Kendall Reyes was in the rotation at defensive end. Edsall sees Reyes as a longterm answer at DT, though he likes the fact he could swing outside.
Edsall knows the passing game has to get better, and was quick to spread blame around. The Huskies aren't getting everything working right now. One thing is for sure, 86 yards through the air isn't going to cut it Saturday.
Other Philly thoughts:
First real time visiting the city (I don't know how that is possible), but I loved the town. I stayed downtown across from city hall. Plenty of restaurants to eat at, though I went with my wife and friends who live down there to a nice Irish pub on Friday. Mcgill's? Or something like that. It's a must go if you are downtown. Also went to the Continental, a nice classy place. When we were leaving we shared an elevator with Andy Rooney. Awesome, huh?
Olde City is a must go. Since I have a two year old, I was a bit out of my element. But, the beverages were cold and tasty.
Of course, I got lost going to the game on Saturday. I took Broad Street NORTH about 8 miles before I figured out I went the wrong way.
One day I am writing a book -- The Misadventures of John Silver. It's a wonder I even make it home sometimes.
P.S. How many Pat fans here wish they were playing Madden on franchise mode so they could reset the game and not lose Brady for the season?
P.S.S. Want to apologize to blog reader Ben, who introduced himself to me on Saturday. I was late (because I got lost) and I couldn't believe someone actually knew who I was. I didn't mean to seem terse. Sorry Ben, and keep reading. Hope you got home safe and didn't get too wet.
