Sunday update

Randy Edsall saw the play and said he agreed with ruling on the field and in the booth (that it couldn't be overturned because of lack of indisputable visual evidence).

That's that. I don't think he feels sorry for winning.

Injury wise the Huskies came out ok. Lindsay Witten and Dan Ryan were both banged up for most of the week, though Witten saw time late.

As far as the performance, Randy Edsall felt that the Huskies were playing real well and at 10-0 shut it down. He chalked it up to being young and inexperienced.

Donald Brown is going to stay the starter (at least publicly) and Edsall loved his touchdown run where he broke tackles and made some people miss. Best run of the year (I think it was the first TD run). What is a concern, and was readily obvious, is that Brown's pass blocking has to improve. He didn't do a good job on a couple of blocks and Tyler Lorenzen was sacked a couple of times. The running back is on an island and it is a mismatch, but he has to somehow slow the pass rusher.

Andre Dixon is going to get carries. If he wasn't suspended, he would have gotten carries. Dixon is a good back and with Brown is a nice contrast. He showed Saturday exactly what he showed this spring and in the summer before his suspension.

Not good on the defensive side, some breakdowns. O-Line didn't pass block well, though run blocking was better. Probably will see the same line this week.

  • Game balls: Tony C on special teams (no surprise), Andre Dixon offense (no surprise), Dahna Deleston defense (No word on if yellow coat man got a strong look). Deleston was the leading tackler and forced a fumble. "When your starting safety is the leading tackler, you know you have problems in the running game,"” Edsall said on Deleston's play.

  • Huskies are 3-0, no apologies:"Bottom line, we accomplished everything we wanted to accomplish," Edsall said. "We played three games and won three games."
