First day of the NFL season and that was it? I waited 10 hours to watch the giants get shredded?
Let me vent please so I can sleep:
Ya know, after all the griping about assistant coaches and scheme, the Giants have to do a better job of getting players who can play that Jimmy Johnson type aggressive defense. The D was a fish out of water. It was like "You want us to be aggressive?" Goes to show you personnel matters more than coaching.
Tony Romo had the best passing day by a Cowboys QB since Staubach. I want tim lewis back. At least that was a slow death.
I don't get how you can have defensive line depth issues, worries in the secondary, don't ever get an outside linebacker (Kiwanuka is still searching for Jason Witten) despite 8 months of prep time. This is the NFL. Get some players. The only quality guy they brought in on defense was Mitchell. Nothing at corner, and no more added depth on the line. Kiwanuka at linebacker looks like a bust. Maybe as a pass rusher standing him up is a good idea. But in coverage it is an extreme mismatch.
They pinned the defense on a 36 year old D-END who skipped camp. And Drohns at FB? My goodness. There isn't another fullback in the world?
Bad job putting that defense together and bad roster management by the new GM. The linebackers and secondary are atrocious, again.
If the coach is the reason you can't get players to come there then that's a problem. I like Coughlin's coaching, game plan and philosophy. He is an offensive coach and he can be successful. But, it's a players league and if the players won't come, what's the point?
I must say I am stunned by the lack of quality on the defense. Especially considering their is big money being spent on offense at QB WR and TE. Should have went after Asante Samuel and a got a good safety somewhere. James Butler looked like he was a dog chasing after a car.
Wow! Third and 7 at 38-35 with 3 minutes left and all your timeouts, and the Boys take it 60 yards to the house. Unacceptable.
