Halftime UConn 17, West Virginia 14

Who in this state did an "uh ohh" after the opening kick?

It was an "Are you kidding me?" moment.

Perhaps that kickoff return was good for the Huskies. It's like sniffing with some smelling salt to wake up.

Defensively, the Huskies look like they did through the first 4 games of the season. They are stuffing the running game and the defensive scheme has been brilliant. A lot more pressure. The only thing Jarrett Brown has done is escape pressure a little too much. Huskies could have 6 sacks. They are going to have to contain better.

As far as Devine and Sanders, as long as the line is getting penetration they can hold Devine in check, but, it only takes one. Jock Sanders is a difficult guard. I would keep sending pressure at Brown, that's the only chance. That and tackle.

Offensively, the Huskies have had success when they run the ball. WVU has a good run defense. Jordan Todman has been more effective than Dixon. Perhaps it's Todman's speed he has 11 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown. Got to get some turnovers from Brown. WVU is turnover prone under pressure. He threw one and dropped one for no reason.

Kashif Moore TD was special. As you know by now, Moore held Jasper Howard as he lay bleeding on the sidewalk outside the Student Union Sunday morning.  On Monday, Kashif was crushed when I talked to him outside the vigil. Nice to see a smile on his face. It really is.

Memo: Get the ball to Marcus Easley. There is something about him that I like.

I like UConn's chances in the second half.  Can they close it out? We'll see.

Other games: Flipped on Pittsburgh-USF. The Panthers are destroying USF. Wow.

Watching halftime show about Jazz and Monday night's vigil. They have footage of Joanglia Howard and Henry Williams holding a candle Monday night...I don't know what to say.
