Depth chart unveiled

Not much shock in the depth chart for the upcoming season. It was remarkable how little differene there was in it from the spring.

Here are some worthy nuggets:

* Wide receivers are Ellis Gualden, Kashif Moore and D.J. Hernandez. Of course, on the depth chart it lists D.J. as the backup to Kashif, and when asked about the "demotion" Hernandez was puzzled. He had no idea what anyone was talking about and when he looked at the chart said that he is in the slot and is a "starter." Makes sense, that's where he is most effective. A bit uncomfortable for about 5 minutes. Thought we were breaking it to D.J. that he was benched.

* Mike Hicks beat out Dan Ryan for right tackle. Mike Ryan to backup at RT. Dan Ryan backs up Will Beatty at LT.

* Jasper Howard starting corner opposite Darius Butler and a pair of local guys, Emmanuel Omakaro and Glenn Mourning are backups at safety. Nothing ground breaking.

* Twyon Martin and Kendall Reyes are backups at DT. Marcus Campbell joins Lindsey Witten as a backup at DE.

* RB Jordan Todman was riding a bicycle most of practice. Return is week-to-week. WR Brad Kanuch had his helmet on today, but still didn't practice but did work out. It's progress people, progress.
