Playoffproblem.com

If you haven't seen the Quinnipiac poll this morning, there is a nice tidbit about fans would rather have a college football playoff. The poll said 63 percent want to scrap the BCS for a playoff.

This comes on the heels of Congress getting involved and even President Obama reiterating last year he would like to see a playoff.

The BCS isn't a public relations dummy anymore. Big East commish John Marinatto was supposed to be in the position to be the face of the BCS, but the BCS felt it should go and hire someone full-time to prevent a first year commissioner exposed to the tumult of excluding undefeated teams from the title game.

The BCS hired Bill Hancock as its executive director, and hours after the poll was out, they went into crisis spin mode. All the talking points were there.

"It’s easy to support a hypothetical playoff on paper, but no one has come up with a viable way to actually create one without diminishing the value of the regular season and ending the bowl games as we know them," Hancock said. "Yes, a playoff could be created, but at a tremendous loss to the unique game that we love.”

Now, the BCS also released some links and also have a website -- playoffproblem.com.

The BCS also cites that support for a layoff has eroded the last two years.

These guys are pros, and they need to be. This is a public relations battle and the status quo is good for BCS schools.

Let the PR offensive begin. They were ready for this, very ready.
