Frazer still fuzzy

Nothing official on Zach Frazer, he is feeling better today. No official word on if it is another concussion. Edsall said Frazer was fuzzy. He didn't ask what that means.

Fuzzy? I think it means cloudy, detached, mental state. It's not a great description , but I think it conveys the point. He got dinged up. How serious is TBD.

We will find out more Tuesday.

Randy Edsall addressed somewhat the play-calling. He hates this subject (me too). Once he hears play-calling Edsall goes into a shell (Questioning play-calling to a football coach is like telling a writer that he can't write a lick. It's a conversation stopper.)

Edsall feels that his team was moving the ball fine in the first half, and it was field position in the second half that really limited them. I'll be fair, valid points and he is probably right on the field position view. They did have a chance to win the game. The game plan was successful in this regard.

Question, does that validate the play-calling philosophy?

He did mention there was some openings down field in the first half that weren't read properly (Frazer), and intimated that the receivers aren't getting enough separation (they aren't).

The question I want answered is a tough one that for most of the season has been ducked because of the combative nature of questioning play-calling.

Is it play-calling or lack of ability at receiver and quarterback that is causing this?

There is a dearth of big plays in the passing game. There has to be a reason for it.

Other tidbits:

Edsall said Cody Brown was terrific on Saturday. I think Brown was better than that. He played a big-time game. It's too bad UConn lost. Cody Brown had a great game on Saturday and it was lost in the midst.
