Edsall announced to the team at Sunday's awards banquet that he is going to remain as coach of the University of Connecticut.
A UConn official confirmed it on Sunday afternoon.
Edsall staying, Big East champs, all in 24 hours. And you guys were worried.
Edsall won't have an official statement, but a lot of it was for family reasons and wanting to develop his football family and football program even more.
Update: 6 p.m. teleconference, Huskies could know their bowl opponent by then.
At the banquet, Edsall said: "I am going to put the rumors to rest. I am staying as long as you will have me."
Standing ovation from the team. Have more later.
Update: Edsall wouldn't take questions on he staying at UConn (had a statement at the beginning). Wake Forest the opponent (not a surprise).

At least we weren't so worried that we couldn't post anything since Friday like some people we know. (grin)
We figured you must have actually had a life (unlike some of us) and weren't glued to the internet (or in your case cell phone) to find out if he stay or goes.
After this calms down I'd love to here your thoughts on the whole ordeal and what it may or may not mean in terms of affect on the program.
I will give my thoughts some time tonight. Thanks for reading and I am sorry I was unable to get to a computer and more information.
