UNC time set

Kickoff For North Carolina Set At 7:00 p.m.

STORRS, Conn. (Sept, 22, 2008) – The University of Connecticut football game at North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 4, will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. The game will be nationally televised by either ESPN2 or ESPNU and that finalization will come next Monday.

In addition, UConn junior running back Donald Brown (Atlantic Highlands, N.J.) was named to the weekly BIG EAST honor roll for his performance against Baylor. Brown had 34 carries for 150 yards and two TDs, including the game-winner, in the 31-28 win over the Bears on Friday night.

UConn, 4-0 on the season, opens conference play this Friday night at 8:00 p.m. when it travels to Louisville on ESPN2.

Wow! Three straight weeks on national television. It isn't a great slot
(opposite the ABC game), but a nice alternative.

I don't consider ESPNU national television but being on ESPN2, on a Saturday no less, would be huge for UConn.

ESPN2 if the Huskies win Friday. ESPNU if they lose. That's my best guess.

Unfortunately, its most likely going to be on ESPNU-Conn

John - I think a UNC win over Miami would help. That might get the game on ESPN2 regardless if UConn wins. A nobrainer, I hope, if both win.

Perhaps. UConn wins I think they move it to ESPN2. You would then have a 5-0 team likely ranked in the top 25 on the road at an ACC school.

A loss? Welcome to the U.

Hurts that the QB from UNC went down for 5 weeks which makes them less of a contender, instead they have the 3rd Paulus brother at QB. So it may be ESPnU anyways. All i know is i better be able to watch this game or im driving down to espn myself to get some deal going with Comcast. Keep the info coming John, great job as always.

They need to set the tone for the big east sched with a win on friday. Hopefully they will get the espn2 game if they do. I don't feel like finding a bar that has them on. Being a father now means I need to be able to watch it at home. Go Huskies!

i agree with Sean O. You can't consider ESPNU a national network when at least 3/4 of the country doesn't get it since COMCAST is everywhere.

What makes it worse is that we can watch a Big Ten game on Comcast whenever we want since they added the Big Ten Network a few weeks ago.

And by looking at a map, the closest school to the state in the Big 10 is Penn State.
