Nothing big from Thursday's conference call.
Ryan Henegan is still day-to-day and Randy Edsall won't budge on any more info. That is it on the injury issue unless Edsall has some surprises in store. Likely to be a game time decision, and even then he might play a series or two to see how much he can go.
Edsall learned about the ESPN report on Wednesday that the FBI is looking into their Motor City Bowl win in 2004 over Toledo for possible point shaving by Toledo players, .Edsall said he didn't read the story, and I don't think he is going to.
Edsall sounded relaxed and confident. The team is the same, that's a very good sign.
Also, the UConn-Temple game on Sept. 15 will be on local TV and broadcast regionally on MY9 and Cox Cable in Rhode Island among others. For all those UConn fans in Denver they will get their second crack at watching UConn on altitude sports network in Denver.
UConn vs. Temple on TV in Denver?
I don't get it either.
Edit: If you can't pick up the JI today, here are most of our stories from the college football preview.
http://www.journalinquirer.com/site/news.asp?brd=985&pag=460&dept_id=569454
Now, navigating the JI site is difficult (family owned, can't throw money at it, and the site is outsourced, so we are still behind the times). Stories don't appear on top sports stories, rather you have to clink on a UConn link.
It took me 10 minutes to find my own stuff.
